The importance of Audio Design 🔊

We strongly believe that audio design is an essential component in making a game feel polished and professional. In Green City, every minor action the player takes will have corresponding audio to ensure the game feels responsive. This approach is in line with fundamental game design principles that we stand by.

Sound Effects and Interactivity

Various sounds will play when the player navigates the UI, constructs a structure, demolishes a structure, or experiences other in-game events. Given the abundance of sound effects available online at relatively low prices, we plan to purchase pre-made SFX instead of hiring a specialist to create them from scratch.

Voice-Over Considerations

As it stands, we do not plan on incorporating voice-over work into the game. However, we may reevaluate this decision in the future should an opportunity arise that could enhance the player experience.

Music and Adaptability 🎶

In line with our approach to sound effects, we do not currently plan on hiring a musician to compose an entire original soundtrack (OST) for Green City. However, we may consider commissioning one or two original songs for marketing trailers or other promotional materials in the future.

Similar to other city builder games, our game will feature background music that complements the mood of the gameplay. Ideally, the music should be adaptive, adjusting to the current gameplay situation. For example, if the city is grappling with high pollution levels and the citizens are suffering, the music will adopt a somber, lower tone. On the other hand, if the city's citizens are content and everything is progressing smoothly in terms of gameplay, the music will be lively and upbeat.

By incorporating responsive audio design, a diverse range of sound effects, and adaptive music, we aim to create an immersive and captivating experience for players of Green Cities.
